ZeniRay Technology
Technology
Nature's oldest purifier.
Made intelligent.
The sun has used ultraviolet light to purify water since the beginning. ZeniRay concentrates that principle into a precise, mercury-free, intelligent system — engineered to guard the last meters before water reaches you.
How UVC Light Destroys Pathogens
Ultraviolet light at the C wavelength — specifically between 260–280nm — penetrates the cell walls of bacteria and viruses and disrupts their DNA and RNA at the molecular level. This damage prevents microorganisms from replicating. An organism that cannot replicate cannot infect.
This is not a chemical process. No substances are added to the water. No residue remains. The water that exits ZeniRay is identical in composition to the water that entered — minus the biology that could harm you.
ZeniRay's 10 LPM and 25 LPM models achieve a sterilization rate of ≥99.9999% (6-log reduction), verified by independent third-party testing. The 4 LPM, 45 LPM, and 46 LPM models achieve ≥99.999% (5-log reduction).
UVC LED vs Mercury Lamp — Why It Matters
| ZeniRay UVC LED | Traditional Mercury Lamp | |
|---|---|---|
| Mercury | None — mercury-free | Contains mercury |
| Activation | Instant — when water flows | 2–5 minute warm-up |
| Lifespan | 5,000 active hours (15–20 yrs typical use) | 8,000–12,000 total hours (always on) |
| Degradation | Consistent output | Output degrades over time |
| Energy | Only uses power when water flows | Runs continuously 24/7 |
| Environment | RoHS & REACH compliant | Hazardous waste disposal required |
What's Inside Every ZeniRay
Smart Flow Switch
The built-in flow switch detects water movement and activates the UVC LED the instant a tap opens. When water stops, the light rests. This has two critical benefits: first, the LED never irradiates stagnant water unnecessarily — protecting against the warming effect that traditional always-on systems cause. Second, because the 5,000-hour lifespan only counts active hours, a ZeniRay module lasts far longer than the hour rating suggests — typically 15–20 years for a standard household.
PTFE Reflector Sleeve
Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is one of the most efficient UVC reflectors available — it captures rays that would otherwise be lost and redirects them back through the water. This increases the effective UV dose without requiring a more powerful LED, improving sterilization efficiency across the full cross-section of the water flow.
Food-Grade 304 Stainless Steel Chamber
Every ZeniRay chamber is machined from 304 stainless steel — the same grade used in food processing and medical equipment. It is corrosion-resistant, non-leaching, and designed for uniform water flow that ensures consistent UV exposure across every litre that passes through. The chamber is also engineered for straightforward maintenance: the UVC LED module is replaceable without replacing the housing.
Intelligent LED Driver with Lifespan Display
The LED driver counts only the hours the UVC LED is actively operating — not calendar time. A clear digital display shows total running hours and LED life remaining at a glance. The driver also shows operational status via indicator lights: standby, active, and alert. You always know exactly how much protection remains.
Replaceable UVC LED Module
When the LED module eventually reaches the end of its rated lifespan, only the module is replaced — not the chamber, the housing, or the full unit. This dramatically reduces the long-term cost of ownership and the environmental footprint of the product.
Certifications
ZeniRay products are independently certified to international standards:
- CE (EMC & LVD) — European electromagnetic compatibility and low voltage directive compliance
- RoHS — Restriction of Hazardous Substances: no lead, mercury, cadmium, or other restricted materials
- REACH — EU chemical safety compliance
- NSF 372 — Lead-free certification for drinking water system components (4 LPM model)
- SELV — Safety Extra Low Voltage (46 LPM model)
- Third-party sterilization test report — independent verification of sterilization performance (10 LPM and 25 LPM models)
